Armed Citizen 3

A woman was at home around 11:30 p.m. when a man started to beat on her door. Denied entry, reports say he used a brick to break a window and enter the woman’s bedroom. The man did not comply with the woman’s orders to leave, continuing to move toward her. The woman—who was armed—proceeded to shoot the intruder in the leg. Undeterred by the first shot, the man continued to advance at the woman, so she fired again, hitting him in the side of his head. A struggle between the two then ensued but the woman was able to escape just as authorities arrived on the scene. Police reportedly told local media that the woman is protected by The Castle Doctrine, which allows people to use deadly force to protect themselves inside their homes. The troopers who responded to the incident discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was flown to a hospital for surgery. The 69-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespassing and burglary. (The Blaze; 3/27/26; Fayette County, PA)
