A Texas man who was assaulting a woman is dead after she fatally shot him, according to local reports. The Grand Prairie Police Department officials said the man arrived at the home of a woman with whom he had previously been in a relationship, forcing his way into the home. As the assault was occurring, the woman grabbed her handgun in self-defense and shot the man. When officers responded to the home, they discovered the deceased man, 45, who later pronounced dead by the Grand Prairie Fire Department. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she is expected to recover from her injuries. (wfaa.com; Grand Prairie, TX; 7/19/25)
